The new head coach for Team Canada was announced as David Jansson who is currently coaching Pixbo Wallenstam IBK in the Swedish Elite League, I decided to ask someone playing for Pixbo about the new head coach.
Kalle Brännberg, forward with Pixbo Wallenstam IBK:
EP: For how long have you had David Jansson as coach?
KB: He became the head coach for Pixbo Wallenstam IBK this season but he was also my coach/teacher at the floorball gymnasium (high-school) in Mölnlycke, Sweden. He has developed a lot since the time in high-school.
EP: What is his coaching style?
KB: His leadership style comes with a lot of commitment that put the focus on details. He aims for people to enjoy being part of a group and in that way to create an environment where people have a good time and want to perform.
EP: What can Canada's national team players expect from him as a head coach?
KB: A lot of different ideas and big commitment. Usually David has an answer to everything in terms of floorball so I hope the players ask him a lot of questions!
EP: What about his language skills?
KB: He is very good in English and also German. When it comes to French it will probably be tougher but I'm sure he knows a few words like "bâton" or "tirez"!
EP: Did he already have a chance to visit North America in the past?
KB: Yes, he already traveled in the US but not in Canada as far as I know. Last year he was on a long trip on the east and west coast.
